School's Almost Out!

School's almost out, the time is here! The LHS class of 2009 is about to become the senior class at LHS; just one more week! One more week of semester exams, if we have any that we haven't exempted. And for some of those in IB, it's the week that we're doing our oral commentary, one of the IAs for our IB English HL class. Everyone is crossing their fingers, hoping the passage that they get for commentary is one that they are at least competent in describing.

As for the rest of the time, everyone's playing games, having parties, going places, enjoying that one last free summer. The last summer without impending worries about college, without fear of leaving the place you've come to for the last four school years; one that, unknowingly, for most of us, we've made our second home.

What happens when all of us will go off to college; will we ever truly communicate again (of course, here one could argue if we ever have really communicated with each other to begin with...), what will happen to us when have to go out and face a real world? How will we cope with the new paradigm facing us?

And will, for us IB kids, whether we hate the program or not; will it have truly prepared us???
